Viva La Onesie!

Ladies and Gentlemen. Well. Probably not gentlemen… possibly Spencer & his slanket and one or two others but I’m reckoning, mainly, LADIES! If you follow me on twitter, you will have seen that in the last week, I have made a purchase that has indeed changed my life. You will have heard me refer to it on a daily (who am I kidding, several-times-a-daily) basis. Yes, I refer of course, to my Onesie. Mixed reactions have been made to said purchase, from the shared joy of fellow onesie owners, to the inevitable questions of those who have not yet taken the plunge (“don’t you get cold when you go for … Continue reading

Privacy

Not so long after I started blogging I ran into trouble with my privacy having been infiltrated. Basically I’d told my Mum I was blogging but that I was doing it privately, had explained the reasons behind that. I’d blogged about some of the worst aspects of my relationship with Chops’ Dad, I’d written about being diagnosed with depression, I’d written at length that I was struggling. One evening, I got a comment, left anonymously saying “Do you not worry that someone you know might find and read this? Including your horrible ex?”. I freaked out, it turns out, rightly so. About two weeks later I wrote a post, which … Continue reading

Why?

Why do I blog? Easy. Not simple, but easy. I’ve always loved to write. I love the power of the written word, how you can become completely transported, fall in love with an idea, an imagined character or place. Last year, I met my boyfriends neighbour C*. You probably know of her if you blog or tweet, she’s a bit of a dab hand/expert with all her social media type stuff. C blogs & has done for years and out of curiosity I googled her to see what that meant exactly. I kind of knew what blogging was but had never really read any- it hadn’t interested me. From C’s … Continue reading

Twitter

Tonight I’ve been following the #madblogawards tag on twitter. I wasn’t there of course, I was just sat in my bed, faffing about with my laptop, drinking wine and checking out everyone in their beautiful dresses. It’s almost midnight now & I’m sat in my daughters room waiting for her to go back to sleep and as it usually does around this time, my twitter feed has slowed right down. A thought just popped into my head and it’s niggling at me “what if I’d had twitter when things were starting to go wrong with her Dad?”. I know it one of those “what if’s” that I should never allow … Continue reading

Thinking it all over.

Hello You. Yes You. Thank you kindly for coming and reading my blog. This is now the third blogging URL I’ve had the cheek to take up… lets see how it goes this time. When I started blogging back in February I was in a pretty dark place. For a while, blogging was my therapy, through it I found an amazing network of support, made friends from all over the country and indeed the world, learnt a lot about myself and the people who are important to me. When I started I tried hard to keep myself anonymous, as so much of what I was writing was deeply personal and … Continue reading
